Bill and Melinda Gates said on Friday that their foundation is promising $10 billion over the next decade to develop and deliver vaccines to developing countries.Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, announced the pledge to reporters at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

He said that boosting immunization coverage in developing countries to 90% should prevent the deaths of 7.6 million children under the age of 5 between 2010 and 2019.Gates said the latest pledge by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation more than doubles the $4.5 billion the foundation has given to vaccine research in the past five years.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has now committed more than 25 billion dollars to various health projects, especially targeting AIDS and polio and other diseases that hit poor countries.
