Maria Sharapova And Sasha Vujacic Seen Together In U2's Concert
0 comments Posted by pok at 11:38 AMIn a recent posting, the website SportsByBrooks reported that CNBC reporter Darren Rovell revealed on Twitter the possibility of this power union earlier today. That was followed a few hours later by Matt Cronin of tennisreporters.net tweeting that it was indeed true.
If Sharapova can somehow get "The Machine" to rediscover his shooting touch, Lakers fans figure to embrace the move. But if things get worse ... get ready for the Yoko-pova jokes.

Victoria Beckham has previously called her feet "the bane of my life" -- and not just because of her obsessive compulsion to toss away millions on shoes, shoes, and more shoes. According to U.K. paper the Daily Mail -- and more than a few icky close-up photos of Beckham's dogs -- the world's most fabulous footballer's wife has a raging case of bunions.
"She is suffering from shooting pain from the bunions," a snitch told the paper. The painful foot condition occurs when a a bony prominence protrudes from the foot, usually at the base of the big toe. Women are the main sufferers, as the cause is most often due to unsuitable footwear.
"Normally, she kicks off her shoes in the house, but she has been out so much recently in high heels that she is really feeling it." (We don't totally buy that last statement. Posh wears five-inch Louboutins when playing with her kids in the sandbox; if Isotoner makes a stiletto, she's wearing that around the house.)
Beckham has famously refused to wear flats, saying “unless they’re on a ballet dancer doing ballet, I just don’t get it. I love heels.”
Barack Obama has a new threat to deal with, and it comes in the form of Angelina Jolie. Angelina Jolie isn't happy with the state of politics today … and that includes President Barack Obama.
According to US Magazine a source close to Jolie says when asked about Obama she said she "hates him". The source goes on further to say "She's into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts. She thinks Obama is really a socialist in disguise". Should we expect to see Jolie rallying against Democrats like her Father Jon Voight? It's not likely. "Angie isn't Republican, but she thinks Obama is all smoke and mirrors," the source says.
Brad Pitt is a huge fan of Obama and the political differences between Pitt and Jolie causes a lot of friction in the household. "They get into nasty arguments all the time about it," the source says. "She doesn't respect Brad when it comes to politics, but, in the end, this won't tear them apart."

Natalie Portman once famously spoofed her good-girl reputation with an R-rated gangsta rap on SNL. But with her racy new movie, she may be turning her image around for real.
Portman is starting to dish about her sex scene with co-star Mila Kunis (from That '70s Show and Forgetting Sarah Marshall) in the upcoming thriller Black Swan. The two ladies play rival ballet dancers in a deadly competition -- who somehow find themselves in a lover's tryst.
"It's not raunchy, it's extreme," Portman told vmagazine of the love scene.
"Extreme" could mean a lot of things, but it sounds like a new direction for Portman. The 28-year-old actress is known for taking provocative roles, while being shy about sex scenes. While shooting the 2004 film Closer, Portman filmed a full-on striptease for a scene with Clive Owen -- then regretted it, and convinced director Mike Nichols to cut the nudity from the scene (It's still pretty racy, to be fair).

Liverpool boss Benitez defends 'Rafa's rant' at Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson
0 comments Posted by pok at 4:13 AMBenitez put a great deal of preparation into his list of complaints about the Manchester United boss and delivered his speech in a calm manner. But the material was dynamite as he focused on Ferguson's complaints about fixtures and his
perceived bullying of referees.
The outburst came ahead of the Reds' match at Stoke where victory would have allowed Benitez to look down on the rest of the Premier League. But after drawing at the Britannia Stadium it was widely considered the Anfield chief had failed in an attempt to take on Ferguson at mind games.
Earlier this month Ferguson was handed a touchline ban after his post-match complaints about referee Alan Wiley’s fitness, so, does Benitez allow himself a wry smile?
Talking point: Benitez (right) had plenty to say about Old Trafford chief Ferguson
'No,' he said. 'I thought it was the best way to put things across and that people would see something that everybody knew and maybe no one could say. I said it. I was talking about facts,' he told The Times.
'Now the situation is different, but you still see things that you could say...
