“The first time around it’s like lightning in a bottle. There’s something special about it, because you’re defying the odds. And as time passes, you start taking it for granted that a guy named Barack Hussein Obama is president of the United States,” Obama said. “But we should never take it for granted.”I do take heart in the realization he is asking for campaign donations under the rationale uber-Democrat fundraisers should not take it for granted voters will buy his fluff a second time around.
“I hope that all of you still feel that sense of excitement and that sense of possibility, because we still have so much more to do.”
Note also he is urging supporters to think back on his early potential--such that it was--rather than what he has done in his time as president. Not a very auspicious start to a reelection campaign, no?
