You often take the most cynical view of how events will play out. How do you keep from falling into nihilism?I define my cynicism as a wounded idealism. I have an idea of the way thin gs ought to be, but I recognize they most often are not. A recognition of the best possible outcome presents a goal for which to strive. I am not such a cynic I deny there is any possibility of success or improvement. But with fallible, sinful man in control, perfection is impossible.
Nihilism is a belief in nothing. There is no way to define an ideal when you believe in nothing, so there is no way to possess a wounded idealism. So there is how I keep from falling into nihilism. I embrace the idea there is still meaning.
